About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides thorough reviews of environmental data supplied in connection with loan transactions and property management
- Provides guidance to other departments on specific transactions and environmental compliance costs
- Certifies extent of known environmental liability for bank reporting purposes
- Approves credits of non-R/E secured transactions in high risk industries
- Manages costs attributable to loan loss and excessive environmental consulting costs
- Develops critical reviews of qualifications of environmental consultants
- Conducts training sessions for all areas of the bank affected by environmental issues
- Serves as Vendor Relationship Owner (VRO) for the environmental risk function
- Collaborates with senior management in developing auditing procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Science or equivalent
- Eight (8) years of experience conducting or performing critical reviews of environmental assessments
- Three (3) years of supervisory/management experience, specifically in an environmental risk function
- Credit evaluation experience
