About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate with finance and technology teams to establish cloud budgets and forecasts
- Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to track cloud spending and cost-saving initiatives
- Analyze billing data and cloud usage metrics to identify trends and optimization opportunities
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize cloud costs
- Create reports and dashboards to track and communicate cloud cost optimization efforts
- Provide guidance to engineering teams on optimization recommendations
- Present financial analysis to influence management decisions
- Stay current on industry trends, tools, and technologies related to cloud cost management and FinOps practices
- Prepare and maintain documentation of processes and procedures
- Assist management with complex projects and initiatives
- Offer guidance and advice to junior analysts
- Ensure compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices
- Identify and support process improvements
- Apply disciplined change management practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five (5) years of financial analysis, management reporting, or related experience
- Or High School Diploma or GED and nine (9) years of financial analysis, management reporting, or related experience
- Certified Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Practitioner or ability to obtain within three (3) months in role
- Experience with cloud cost management tools and services preferred
- Experience in cloud optimization or in related roles within a cloud centric environment preferred
- Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
- Advanced knowledge of financial statements
- Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Understanding of cloud technologies, financial analysis, and cost management
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position
