About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and coordinate projects including preparation of Expression of Interest, Request for Proposals/Tenders and the evaluation of submissions
  • Track and report on consultant progress and deliverable submissions; develop project plans, work schedules and establish priorities
  • Identify and coordinate all operational elements associated with projects/initiatives (including budgets and resources)
  • Provide expertise, advice and guidance to the Water and Wastewater Divisions programs and services, and implementation of improvements and programs
  • Conduct research on water and wastewater industry best practices and analyse data to make recommendations for improving business and operational processes and new programs
  • Map current‑state processes, identify bottlenecks, and redesign workflows; facilitate implementation of approved changes to realize measurable efficiencies and service improvements
  • Develop and deliver departmental reports related to Water and Wastewater best practices
  • Facilitate meetings and prepare and delivers presentations and reports to directors, managers, project teams and to divisional meetings as required
  • Evaluate and review current policies, practices and programs
  • Develop and manage techniques for effective integration of programs across the division, department or Corporation as appropriate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A satisfactory Level 1 Criminal Record Check obtained directly from a police station (third-party background checks will not be accepted)
  • A relevant university/college degree/diploma in Engineering, Environmental Studies, or Business Administration
  • 5 years of experience in a Public Works or Municipal Government Environment
  • Proficiency and strong knowledge of water and wastewater systems
  • Proficiency in change management methodologies and deployment that supports operational project management, process improvement, and data‑informed decision‑making
  • Experience reporting from a quality programming framework
  • Proficiency in MS Office
