About the role

  • Driving the complete team strategy and direction in collaboration with the Director of DBQ Operations.
  • Owning the goals, the metrics, and team structure for both DBQ Generation and Quality Control.
  • Working in tandem with the Director of the department and the supervisors to ensure complete alignment across the teams.
  • Leading the respective team supervisors for their teams’ success and owning overall department success.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and tracking each of their teams’ performance ensuring alignment with the overall departmental goals and company strategy.
  • Owning any supervisors' timecards and PTO approvals and servicing as a backup for the overall team when a supervisor is unavailable.
  • Setting team goals and tracking towards team success, along with owning each supervisor's development and overall group development for DBQ skills.
  • Acting as the lead in interview and onboarding processes for all new team members, including their respective GoTeam members.
  • Overseeing the overall performance management process across the department, this can include coaching conversations, reviews as needed, addressing any performance concerns, etc.
  • Ensuring the total team follows all processes and procedures related to Operational Programs and safeguarding personally identifiable information / personal health information across the team.
  • Serving as REE’s Disability Questionnaire Subject Matter Expert across all departments within REE.
  • Owning the Disability Review Guide, ensuring content is updated periodically and offers accurate information on Vet case progression.
  • Owning and servicing as the lead trainer on any updates to the Guide across REE Medical.
  • Maintaining expertise within the VA’s Rating Schedule as required to own the Disability Review Guide.
  • Owns the inquiry process for any DBQ-related questions, ensuring timely feedback to teams requesting information or updates across all platforms.
  • Manages and reports on team compliance within REE Medical’s policies and procedures.
  • Owning weekly department meetings and bi-weekly staff check-ins to disseminate essential information and updates.
  • Holding supervisors accountable to their team 1:1s and serving as a backup when supervisors are unavailable.
  • Eliminating roadblocks across the teams respectively.

Requirements

  • You must be able to overlap with GoTeam morning working times.
  • Experience within the VA Disability Industry outside of REE is a plus.
  • Experience in managing people in a remote setting is a plus.
  • Experience navigating changing priorities and leading teams through times of change.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with an eye for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to think strategically while still maintaining a detail-oriented, self-motivated, and well-organized mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for facilitating effective collaboration across various departments and levels of the organization, including the ability to navigate difficult conversations with empathy.
  • Goal-driven approach with experience leading and coaching remote teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Equivalent experience will be considered for candidates with 4 or more years in a related operational or leadership position.
