About the role

  • Organizing and assisting in the supervision of banquet servers, bartenders, and house personnel
  • Ensuring all banquet events are executed smoothly and providing exceptional guest service
  • Implementing staff effectiveness through communication, coaching, counseling, and performance appraisal
  • Enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Acting as department head in manager’s absence
  • Investigating and resolving service complaints
  • Ensuring all banquet spaces are clean, organized, and prepared
  • Mastering Point of Sale, Sales & Catering, and Inventory Management programs
  • Assisting in recruitment, selection, orientation, and training of new staff
  • Complying with Health Code guidelines

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • 6 months to one year of related experience/training in a premier banquet and conference facility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet applications
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and interpersonal relationships
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
