About the role
- Act as the technical owner for ~5–10 strategic accounts in your region, building deep trust with customer engineers and architects.
- Spend significant time with customers (on-site and virtual) to understand business objectives, technical environments, challenges, and long-term goals.
- Assess customer needs and translate them into tailored multi-vendor infrastructure architectures across servers, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud, and software solutions.
- Package, propose, and present compelling end-to-end solutions that clearly address customer challenges and support their transformation roadmap.
- Partner closely with field sales, Solutions Architects, Solution Consultants, OEM presales engineers, and services teams to craft winning proposals and support bid cycles.
- Lead discovery sessions, technical demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (POCs), and technical workshops with customer stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed account documentation, architecture diagrams, roadmaps, and action plans to ensure continuity and shared understanding across the account team.
- Proactively identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts and help drive account growth, aligned with land-and-expand / 100% wallet share strategy.
- Coordinate technical support, implementation details, and acceleration of sales cycles when needed.
- Dedicate recurring time each week to training and certification to stay current with technologies customers rely on.
- Contribute field feedback and insights to internal teams to help shape offerings, best practices, and engagement models for strategic accounts.
Requirements
- Proven pre-sales, consulting, or technical account experience supporting enterprise IT solutions.
- Strong understanding of enterprise technologies including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud.
- Ability to interpret business and technical needs and translate them into clear, compelling architectures.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and executive audiences.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a matrixed environment with sales, engineering, and services partners.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Industry certifications relevant to infrastructure technologies (e.g., networking, cloud, storage).
