About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Routinely assess and manage Red Hat's core offerings, including Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat OpenShift Data Foundation (ODF), and Kubernetes based technologies.
- Manage automated, containerized cloud application platform solutions focusing on infrastructure concerns including networking, storage, virtualization, security, logging, monitoring, high availability, and system resilience.
- Learn new technologies quickly, including container orchestration, container registries, container build strategies, cloud storage, and software-defined networks.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on site, addressing technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs.
- Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of complex open-source solutions.
- Adapt to changing customer requirements.
- Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner.
- Deliver quality results both on-site and post-engagement that are on time and within the scope of the assigned project, including project journals, status reports, and other standard documentation.
- Participate in an on-call rotation within a geographically distributed team to provide 24x7x365 production support, with responsibility to respond to urgent customer issues.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- 3+ years of experience with Linux system administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative
- 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes, AKS, GKS, EKS, Docker, Podman, or any other Container and PaaS related technologies
- 2+ years of scripting or programming experience
- Knowledge of system management, including installation, custom channels, deploying virtualized systems, basic client-based security, repositories, and creating core builds.
- Proven experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and other Red Hat products is considered a plus.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices, including Agile (e.g. Scrum), Waterfall, and Incremental Agile and DevOps mindsets are desired
- Willingness to study and learn Agile Practices.
- Red Hat Certifications.
- Fluency in English.
