About the role
- Focus on commercial customers in the Texas region and act as a catalyst to create possibilities and solve problems
- Discover and analyze customers’ business and technical needs and collaborate with Sales and technical delivery teams
- Recommend, design, and implement complex offerings and solutions from across the Red Hat portfolio (RHEL, OpenShift, Ansible)
- Prepare detailed specifications of offerings and implement customer installation plans
- Design value-driven architectures and create/deliver business cases demonstrating application and ROI
- Support Sales team to achieve sales quotas, revenue goals, deployment and service objectives
- Deliver compelling recommendations and quality solutions that result in closing new sales
- Share knowledge and findings with team members to enable learning from successes and mistakes
- Serve as a key part of the customer’s first major experience with Red Hat
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a sales engineer, consultant, IT architect, or an equivalent role within enterprise accounts
- Ability to interpret customers’ business and technical needs
- Understanding of complex enterprise solutions and architectures
- Excellent presentation, communication, and documentation skills
- Record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels throughout large enterprise IT organizations
- Advanced knowledge of UNIX or Linux systems, preferably Red Hat platform offerings like Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Knowledge of provisioning and patch management solutions like Red Hat Satellite
- Experience with configuration management technologies like Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Puppet, Chef, or other related technologies
- Passion for open source and detailed understanding of business processes
- Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business
