About the role
- Integrate and use specific industry and technical delivery methodologies (PMI, Red Hat Services methodology, systems and software development, agile/scrum)
- Drive project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for Red Hat Services projects with minimal direction
- Manage multiple project requirements, scope, timelines, and regular customer cadence while achieving utilisation
- Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria and develop project control and reporting procedures
- Proactively manage project requirements and scope/change requests
- Develop and effectively present project related content to various stakeholders
- Plan, schedule, monitor and report project activities effectively
- Identify project challenges and drive risk management activities and mitigation plans
- Work closely with Resource Management Office to staff projects with relevant consultants and architects
- Assist in training the project team on procedures and processes; coach and mentor lower level project managers
- Foster collaboration, trust, and accountability for departmental and cross-functional teams
- Work with sales/pre-sales teams on project scope, estimates, and schedules; contribute to estimation and review process
- Identify and enable continuous improvements and adapt to changing business demands
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in a project management role in IT-based projects
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Knowledge of specific project management and technical delivery methodologies used in the IT industry
- Experience integrating and using PMI, Red Hat Services project management methodology, systems and software development, agile methodologies such as scrum
- Solid interpersonal, leadership, and analytical skills; business insight
- Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical and project information concisely to diverse audiences
- Capacity to identify, analyse, and resolve risks and roadblocks that arise during project execution
- Solid organisational skills including attention to details and handling of multiple projects concurrently
- Ability to work in a team as well as on your own; ability to motivate project team and individual contributors and mediate conflicts
- Technical knowledge and experience in Red Hat product portfolio will be an advantage
- Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills
- Project management certification
