About the role
- Drive the adoption of Red Hat's solution in key enterprise accounts, government agencies and service provider partners.
- Win the trust and confidence of customer engineering, development and operations teams by aligning requirements and use cases with functional capabilities.
- Bring together cross-functional teams from product business units, product engineering, support, professional services, and sales to meet customer needs.
- Act as a customer advocate with internal organizations to architect and ensure solutions are implemented and supported.
- Deliver discovery, analysis and design workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Scope delivery projects and guide customers through successful pilot and production deployments.
- Design, create and deliver content that enables broader Red Hat organization to sell (presales), service (consulting) and support (GSS) cloud solutions at scale.
- Contribute to development of repeatable methodologies and tools to scale services capabilities and lower delivery risk.
- Demonstrate thought leadership in Devops community via white papers, webinars, code contributions, and speaking at conferences.
- Travel frequently (30-40 weeks per year) to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunications, and institutional customers.
- Participate in intensive training program on advanced automation concepts and Ansible Automation Platform components after joining.
Requirements
- A background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain.
- 4+ years of experience in a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or Architect consulting delivery role.
- 2+ years focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures.
- Strong background in consultative customer engagement with either a major consulting services organization or within the services division of a major software company.
- Proven track record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT and business executives.
- Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms.
- Proven track record supporting solution sales throughout the delivery lifecycle by identifying and proposing solutions to improve the client experience including training, consulting, account management and products.
- The ability to self-study and quickly learn and put into practice new topics
- Passion for Open Source, software, tooling, and automation.
- Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, tools and how they can be applied within an organization.
- Thorough working knowledge and hands-on experience with Ansible, as well as high-level familiarity with Chef, Puppet, Salt, and others in the space.
- Intermediate level scripting (bash, python.)
- Desired: Experience implementing a CI/CD pipeline.
- Desired: Broad and deep technical experience with one or more virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g. OpenStack, RHEV, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure).
- Desired: Container management and orchestration tools.
- Desired: Experience across one or more vertical industry areas preferred.
- Desired: Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with the Open Source communities via Email and IRC.
- Desired: Experience working in a QA role or working with ticketing systems or bug tracking tools is preferred.
- Desired: Familiarity with security fundamentals at the infrastructure (including cloud/hypervisor) and operating system level.
