About the role

  • Drive the adoption of Red Hat's solution in key enterprise accounts, government agencies and service provider partners.
  • Win the trust and confidence of customer engineering, development and operations teams by aligning requirements and use cases with functional capabilities.
  • Bring together cross-functional teams from product business units, product engineering, support, professional services, and sales to meet customer needs.
  • Act as a customer advocate with internal organizations to architect and ensure solutions are implemented and supported.
  • Deliver discovery, analysis and design workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Scope delivery projects and guide customers through successful pilot and production deployments.
  • Design, create and deliver content that enables broader Red Hat organization to sell (presales), service (consulting) and support (GSS) cloud solutions at scale.
  • Contribute to development of repeatable methodologies and tools to scale services capabilities and lower delivery risk.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in Devops community via white papers, webinars, code contributions, and speaking at conferences.
  • Travel frequently (30-40 weeks per year) to work alongside leading financial services, retail, telecommunications, and institutional customers.
  • Participate in intensive training program on advanced automation concepts and Ansible Automation Platform components after joining.

Requirements

  • A background in architecting and designing complex customer solutions in a rapidly evolving technology domain.
  • 4+ years of experience in a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or Architect consulting delivery role.
  • 2+ years focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures.
  • Strong background in consultative customer engagement with either a major consulting services organization or within the services division of a major software company.
  • Proven track record of working in a strategic advisory capacity to senior IT and business executives.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large firms.
  • Proven track record supporting solution sales throughout the delivery lifecycle by identifying and proposing solutions to improve the client experience including training, consulting, account management and products.
  • The ability to self-study and quickly learn and put into practice new topics
  • Passion for Open Source, software, tooling, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, tools and how they can be applied within an organization.
  • Thorough working knowledge and hands-on experience with Ansible, as well as high-level familiarity with Chef, Puppet, Salt, and others in the space.
  • Intermediate level scripting (bash, python.)
  • Desired: Experience implementing a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Desired: Broad and deep technical experience with one or more virtualization and cloud technologies (e.g. OpenStack, RHEV, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure).
  • Desired: Container management and orchestration tools.
  • Desired: Experience across one or more vertical industry areas preferred.
  • Desired: Comfortable working with highly distributed teams, including interaction with the Open Source communities via Email and IRC.
  • Desired: Experience working in a QA role or working with ticketing systems or bug tracking tools is preferred.
  • Desired: Familiarity with security fundamentals at the infrastructure (including cloud/hypervisor) and operating system level.
