About the role
- Provide technical and operational support to the AI Catalyst team to accelerate AI prototyping and operational efficiency.
- Design and maintain scalable, secure platforms integrating AI models and workflows.
- Manage infrastructure using Kubernetes and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) for container orchestration and scalable deployments.
- Implement critical systems: APIs, orchestration, observability, deployment, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify and remove bottlenecks; optimize workflows for faster delivery of AI prototypes.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to align technical priorities and drive impactful AI initiatives.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence, velocity, and pragmatic decision-making.
- Explore and experiment with emerging AI technologies and proactively utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve workflows.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong background in Python; experience with C, C++, Go or Rust
- Proficiency in RHEL or other Linux distributions
- Demonstrated proficiency in Kubernetes for container orchestration and scalable deployments
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) (nice to have)
- Experience building and packaging Python projects; package managers (dnf, pip) and build systems (cmake, meson)
- Experience working with upstream projects and Open Source communities
- Proven ability to deliver Proof of Concepts and rapid prototypes
- Mentorship and leadership skills; ability to mentor senior engineers
- Familiarity with hardware acceleration (GPU, CUDA, ROCm) and AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Familiarity with containerization, orchestration, observability, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication skills and ability to clarify technical tradeoffs
- Experience with test-based development and agile/scrum methodologies
- Proactively utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code)
