About the role

  • Build the Platform From Scratch
  • Partner with our founder to design and build Version 1 of the health intelligence platform. You'll make foundational technical decisions that shape the product for years to come.
  • Architect the Health Intelligence Engine
  • Build the backend infrastructure, APIs, and data models that power personalized health insights. Design systems that synthesize lab results, wearable data, symptoms, and medical history into actionable intelligence.
  • Develop Data Integration Pipelines
  • Create robust ETL pipelines to ingest data from diverse sources: lab providers (Quest, LabCorp), wearables (Oura, Apple Health, Whoop, Garmin), medical records, and user-entered data. Ensure data integrity, security, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Build AI-Powered Features
  • Implement the conversational AI health check-ins, treatment recommendation engine, and predictive models that surface insights and guide users through their health journey. Work with Claude and other AI tools to accelerate development.
  • Own Security and Compliance
  • Build with HIPAA compliance from day one. Implement encryption, access controls, audit logging, and security best practices for handling sensitive health data.
  • Leverage AI-Native Development Tools
  • Use Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI-assisted development tools to accelerate building. Embrace vibe coding and rapid prototyping to move quickly from concept to working product.
  • Grow Into Leadership
  • As we scale, mentor and guide additional engineers. Help establish engineering culture, practices, and standards. This role has a clear path to engineering leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of building and shipping complex products. You've worked across the stack and can own technical decisions end-to-end.
  • Strong backend and infrastructure expertise. Deep experience with system architecture, APIs, databases, and building scalable, reliable systems. Comfortable with Python, Node.js, or similar.
  • Experience with health data and integrations. You've worked with lab data, EHR systems, wearable APIs, or healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR). You understand the complexity of health data.
  • Data pipeline and ETL experience. You've built pipelines that ingest, transform, and normalize data from multiple sources. Experience with healthcare data integration is a strong plus.
  • Cloud infrastructure proficiency. Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure. You can architect and deploy secure, compliant infrastructure.
  • AI/ML implementation experience. You've built products that leverage AI—whether recommendation systems, NLP, conversational AI, or predictive models. Experience with LLMs and prompt engineering is valuable.
  • Security and compliance mindset. You understand HIPAA requirements and can build systems that protect sensitive health data from the start.
  • Comfortable with AI-native development workflows. You use Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub, or similar tools to accelerate your work.
  • Preference on experience with Python and Typescript. Experience with Cloud platforms like AWS, JCP, etc.
  • Experience in healthcare technology and an understanding of technology health data privacy regulations (HIPAA, state telemedicine laws).
  • Startup mentality. You've thrived in early-stage environments where you wear many hats, move fast, and take ownership. You're energized by ambiguity and building from zero to one.
  • Passion for the mission. You care about building technology that improves women's health outcomes. You're motivated by the impact this product can have on real people's lives.
Benefits
  • 100% employer-paid, comprehensive health care including medical, dental, and vision for you and your family.
