About the role
- Maintain accurate financial records across multiple companies.
- Process and reconcile payments and allocate to the debtors side accurately.
- Manage and follow up on creditors’ payments and overdue accounts.
- Reconcile balance sheets, bank accounts, and intercompany accounts monthly.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and record depreciation schedules.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation and ensure accuracy of stock-related entries.
- Prepare and review trial balances and assist with month-end and year-end processes.
- Assist in the consolidation of financial statements across multiple entities.
- Manage insurance schedules and ensure relevant records are up to date.
- Work across multiple projects, ensuring correct financial tracking and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to simplify and streamline accounting processes and systems.
- Collaborate with management to improve financial controls and reporting accuracy.
- Prepare reports as required by management, including variance and cost analysis.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper handling multi-entity or group accounts.
- Strong knowledge of debtors, creditors, intercompany, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience preparing to trial balance and supporting month-end closings.
- Good understanding of fixed assets, inventory, and insurance schedules.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Afrikaans.
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across companies.
- Fully remote
- Part-time: 20-30 hours per month
