About the role
- Provides timely and concise communications to functional leadership regarding project status and pending issues
- Analyzes processes and makes recommendations for optimizing resources and product delivery
- Responsible for continuous improvement of processes and methodologies used in fulfilling responsibilities
- Contributes to refinement of program management methodology
- Develops project plans based on specifications provided by the Portfolio Management staff
- Manages effective execution of the initiatives
- Builds consensus among multiple process leads relative to project scope, task execution, staffing and issue resolution
- Brokers services within IT and ABC vendors on behalf of the business area represented
- Assists with overall financial direction for the projects to manage the development of budgets, controls and measurements to monitor project progress
- Identifies potential risks within the project; proactively manages issues
- Assists with participation in identifying project costs, resource allocation, project schedule changes and issue escalation
- Interacts with IT staff including business area management, portfolio managers, vendors, consultants and other contractors
Requirements
- Requires some training in business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations
- Completion of a four year Bachelor’s Degree program
- Technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education
- PMI certification or equivalent project management methodology training and hours
- 5 to 7 years directly related and progressively responsible experience
- At least two years experience at a senior manager or equivalent level
- Normally requires a professional license or certificate in specialized field
- Knowledge of computers to operate effectively with computer hardware
