About the role

  • Provides timely and concise communications to functional leadership regarding project status and pending issues
  • Analyzes processes and makes recommendations for optimizing resources and product delivery
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of processes and methodologies used in fulfilling responsibilities
  • Contributes to refinement of program management methodology
  • Develops project plans based on specifications provided by the Portfolio Management staff
  • Manages effective execution of the initiatives
  • Builds consensus among multiple process leads relative to project scope, task execution, staffing and issue resolution
  • Brokers services within IT and ABC vendors on behalf of the business area represented
  • Assists with overall financial direction for the projects to manage the development of budgets, controls and measurements to monitor project progress
  • Identifies potential risks within the project; proactively manages issues
  • Assists with participation in identifying project costs, resource allocation, project schedule changes and issue escalation
  • Interacts with IT staff including business area management, portfolio managers, vendors, consultants and other contractors

Requirements

  • Requires some training in business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations
  • Completion of a four year Bachelor’s Degree program
  • Technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • PMI certification or equivalent project management methodology training and hours
  • 5 to 7 years directly related and progressively responsible experience
  • At least two years experience at a senior manager or equivalent level
  • Normally requires a professional license or certificate in specialized field
  • Knowledge of computers to operate effectively with computer hardware
