About the role
- Work closely with assigned patients to identify various reimbursement options and assess financial assistance options for uninsured individuals
- Contribute to the coaching and mentoring of team members
- Manage a larger caseload than other caseworkers
- Serve as the reimbursement expert for a designated territory
- Provide support to other caseworkers regarding complex reimbursements, insurance matters, benefits investigations, special authorizations, and appeals
- Participate in special projects as requested by the program manager
- Provide day-to-day support to the assistant program manager
- Assist management in preparing various reports and carrying out program-related tasks
- Work with management to develop program protocols and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for the caseworker role
- Provide training to new caseworkers, including, but not limited to, on-the-job shadowing and call monitoring
- Regularly interact with insurance companies, physician offices, and healthcare professionals to deliver optimal reimbursement support
Requirements
- At least two years of customer service experience; experience in the medical, pharmaceutical, or insurance industry is an asset
- Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Flexible with work shifts (operational hours are 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM)
- Minimum of two years' experience working for a patient support program
- Call center experience is an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication, including exemplary telephone etiquette with diverse audiences such as internal staff, healthcare professionals, and patients
- University degree in a related field or equivalent
