About the role
- The FinOps Engineer is pivotal to advancing the adoption of public cloud services at Cencora.
- The successful candidate will serve as a technical expert, driving FinOps initiatives aimed at enhancing cloud efficiency.
- This role will involve collaboration with various stakeholders to optimize public cloud consumption and promote the growth of public cloud services within the organization.
- Plan, build, test, and implement solutions that support FinOps initiatives focused on cloud efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency through automation and AI, aligned with business needs and objectives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of public cloud optimization, regulations, policies, and procedures, contributing to the development of optimization policies and guidelines.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality and performance of automated systems.
- Design, develop, and integrate automated solutions with existing systems and platforms to ensure seamless operations.
- Monitor and conduct regular maintenance on automated solutions to ensure optimal functionality.
- Design and implement Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, supporting data transformation and ensuring data quality through ETL processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in an operational role with a cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP) in a technical capacity.
- Proven expertise in cloud optimization is essential.
- Business Intelligence or Data Analytics skills are preferred.
- Familiarity with FinOps concepts or possession of FinOps Certifications is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to coordinate activities and achieve goals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking capabilities.
- A strong desire for continuous learning and professional growth.
- A proactive approach to contributing to organizational automation process improvements and best practices.
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, with experience fulfilling multiple roles within a team environment.
