About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead end-to-end operational delivery of clinical studies from start-up to close-out, on time, on quality, and on budget
- Drive clinical evidence generation for product claims, registration, and regulatory compliance
- Provide expertise on study design, endpoints, and execution strategies
- Ensure protocols and plans comply with ICH-GCP and local regulations
- Identify risks and implement mitigation plans
- Maintain strategic program oversight and manage competing priorities
- Represent Clinical Operations in cross-functional teams and governance forums
- Provide operational input into evidence strategies and development plans
- Build relationships with Medical, Regulatory, Safety/PV, R&D, Quality, and Marketing teams
- Partner with external partners, CROs, and vendors
- Support outsourcing strategy development
- Participate in vendor governance meetings and performance reviews
- Contribute to contract and scope negotiations
- Oversee outsourced activities while retaining delivery accountability
- Support inspection readiness and audits
- Contribute to SOP and operational standard development and improvement
- Drive best practices and consistency across the team
- Line manage and coach Clinical Study Managers and clinical operations staff
- Support team capability development, training, and performance management
- Promote knowledge sharing and operational excellence
- Track and report clinical metrics and study performance indicators
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant clinical operations experience in Consumer Healthcare/OTC and/or Medical Devices (pharma/consumer health company or CRO/vendor)
- Strong experience managing global clinical studies via CROs and external vendors
- Proven study oversight, outsourcing, and vendor governance experience
- Solid understanding of ICH-GCP, global/local clinical regulations, and quality standards
- Experience across multiple product classifications and evidence generation approaches
- Track record in process improvement and operational excellence initiatives
- Strong project and program management capabilities
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience leading or coaching teams in matrix or line management structures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences or related scientific discipline
- Advanced degree and/or relevant clinical research certification preferred
- Experience with Cosmetics, Biocides, and/or VMS clinical programs is a plus
- Experience in global/regional clinical operations roles within fast-paced commercial environments
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed and multicultural environment
- Able to influence and communicate effectively across all organisational levels
