About the role
- Enforce trade compliance policies and approval standards; monitor adherence and address non-compliance
- Oversee contract governance and promotional documentation quality; ensure audit readiness and policy alignment
- Partner with Internal Audit and cross-functional teams to strengthen controls and resolve compliance issues
- Lead month-end close activities for trade-related accounts, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Provide clear commentary on financial performance and ensure consistency in reporting across regions
- Support balance sheet governance through account reviews, root cause analysis, and forecasting of trade accruals
- Drive continuous improvement in trade governance processes, including approval workflows and documentation standards
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimization; collaborate with Commercial teams to implement solutions
- Support transformation initiatives aimed at strengthening financial controls and reducing risk
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on trade governance matters
- Coach and develop a team of analysts; set high standards for accuracy, timeliness, and stakeholder engagement
- Foster collaboration across Finance, Sales, and Audit functions to ensure alignment on governance priorities
Requirements
- 12+ years of progressive experience in Trade Finance, Governance, or related fields within CPG or similar industries
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred
- Proven expertise in compliance, financial governance, and month-end close processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; experience influencing senior leaders
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and manage risk in a dynamic environment
- People leadership experience: coaching, performance management, and building high-performing teams
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
