About the role

  • Enforce trade compliance policies and approval standards; monitor adherence and address non-compliance
  • Oversee contract governance and promotional documentation quality; ensure audit readiness and policy alignment
  • Partner with Internal Audit and cross-functional teams to strengthen controls and resolve compliance issues
  • Lead month-end close activities for trade-related accounts, including accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Provide clear commentary on financial performance and ensure consistency in reporting across regions
  • Support balance sheet governance through account reviews, root cause analysis, and forecasting of trade accruals
  • Drive continuous improvement in trade governance processes, including approval workflows and documentation standards
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimization; collaborate with Commercial teams to implement solutions
  • Support transformation initiatives aimed at strengthening financial controls and reducing risk
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on trade governance matters
  • Coach and develop a team of analysts; set high standards for accuracy, timeliness, and stakeholder engagement
  • Foster collaboration across Finance, Sales, and Audit functions to ensure alignment on governance priorities

Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Trade Finance, Governance, or related fields within CPG or similar industries
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred
  • Proven expertise in compliance, financial governance, and month-end close processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills; experience influencing senior leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and manage risk in a dynamic environment
  • People leadership experience: coaching, performance management, and building high-performing teams
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
