About the role

  • Oversee and manage data, mobile and engineering teams, ensuring efficient team operations and project delivery
  • Recruit, hire, mentor and provide career development opportunities for team members
  • Help the team with prioritisation and assist in troubleshooting complex technical issues
  • Ensure adoption of software engineering best practices
  • Oversee project timelines, deliverables, budgeting, and resource allocation to meet quality standards
  • Work closely with other departments to improve cross-functional workflows and communication
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders across the organisation about progress, challenges and technological advancements
  • Oversee utilisation of modern platforms and technologies to maximise engineering value
  • Shape and scale new platforms; drive technical excellence and foster a supportive, collaborative environment

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with the tech stack in live production environments (AWS, NestJS, Node.js, React, Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DBT, Playwright, Jest)
  • Proven track record in delivering impactful, large-scale web experiences
  • Experience guiding and supporting teams of skilled software engineers
  • Strong people management, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communicator, able to connect with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborative and empowering; ready to embrace challenges and contribute to strategic decisions
  • 3+ years in people management (role requires 3+ years leading high-performing teams)
