About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • You’ll own end-to-end design for one of our core product areas on a platform where AI is the foundation of the product—not a bolt-on feature.
  • Your mission is to bring consumer-grade craft to a B2B healthcare product used by clinicians and hospital administrators operating under real-time pressure, and to help invent design patterns for AI-native interfaces that don’t yet exist.
  • You design the AI-native surfaces our platform is built around, including multimodal interfaces, agent state, uncertainty communication, and human-in-the-loop controls—creating patterns as you go rather than adapting existing ones.
  • You’ll own end-to-end design for a product area—Discharge Core, Voice Desktop, Extract & Docs, Patient Overview, or Agent—taking work from a messy problem statement through to production.
  • You’ll contribute to our design system, building components and AI-specific conventions that other designers and teams rely on.
  • You’ll partner closely with product and engineering, shaping technical and product direction rather than executing a handed-down spec.
  • You’ll collaborate with designers across the organization, influencing the product beyond your immediate team boundary.
  • You’ll maintain a high craft standard in critiques, raising the quality of deliverables across the design team.
  • You’ll help maintain coherence across our AI Suite (Voice, Docs, Extract, Agent) and Discharge Core so our fast-growing multi-product platform feels like a single product to users.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of product design experience, with at least 3 years at Senior, Principal, or Staff level.
  • Experience designing for AI and non-deterministic systems, with concrete examples of how you communicated agent behavior, handled errors, and kept users in control.
  • Experience owning or significantly contributing to a design system at the level of patterns and principles (not only individual components).
  • Block-shaped: equally strong across UX process, UI craft, product thinking, research, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven track record taking features from 0 to 1—moving from ambiguous problem statements to shipped code—and comfortable acting like a PM or frontend developer when needed.
  • High agency with the ability to identify and address gaps proactively, including outside your own product area.
  • Able to hold a position under pressure but change your view when new information requires it (not overly attached to your decisions).
  • Confident English communication and comfortable working in an international environment; German is a plus but not required.
  • Consumer-grade craft and exceptional design sensibility; healthtech experience is a plus but not required.
