About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support multiple Financial Analyst opportunities across RBC’s CFO group, including Investor Services Finance, Balance Sheet Advisory, Financial & Regulatory Reporting, Wholesale Financial Control, Canadian Banking Finance, Performance Management, Product Control, Insurance Finance, Wealth Management Finance, General Ledger Governance & Advisory Functions, and Enterprise Hedge Accounting
  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial results, forecasts, budgets, and variance reports
  • Develop and enhance financial models, dashboards, and data visualizations
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosure reporting
  • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities supporting strategic decision-making
  • Support internal control processes, compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting
  • Partner with business units to provide financial insights and recommendations
  • Identify and implement opportunities to automate, streamline, or improve financial processes
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects, performance measurement initiatives, and special analyses
  • Collaborate with diverse teams and leaders across RBC

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
  • Eligible to complete a work term starting January 2027 (4, 8, 12, or 16 months)
  • Must return to school after the work term, or, if graduating immediately afterward, require the full work term as a mandatory component to graduate successfully
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines
