About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support multiple Financial Analyst opportunities across RBC’s CFO group, including Investor Services Finance, Balance Sheet Advisory, Financial & Regulatory Reporting, Wholesale Financial Control, Canadian Banking Finance, Performance Management, Product Control, Insurance Finance, Wealth Management Finance, General Ledger Governance & Advisory Functions, and Enterprise Hedge Accounting
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial results, forecasts, budgets, and variance reports
- Develop and enhance financial models, dashboards, and data visualizations
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosure reporting
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities supporting strategic decision-making
- Support internal control processes, compliance requirements, and regulatory reporting
- Partner with business units to provide financial insights and recommendations
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate, streamline, or improve financial processes
- Participate in ad-hoc projects, performance measurement initiatives, and special analyses
- Collaborate with diverse teams and leaders across RBC
Requirements
What you’ll need- Currently enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline
- Eligible to complete a work term starting January 2027 (4, 8, 12, or 16 months)
- Must return to school after the work term, or, if graduating immediately afterward, require the full work term as a mandatory component to graduate successfully
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks under pressure, and meet time-sensitive deadlines
