About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently manages multiple highly complex long-term projects and/or programs with significant impact on business processes and technology used firm wide
- Influences strategic direction and develops tactical plans with substantial latitude
- Provides comprehensive solutions to complex problems and has extensive contact with internal clients and the business
- Independently manages complex projects and programs from proposal and requirements definition to project planning and implementation, using broad and extensive input from industry and/or business unit subject matter experts
- Independently manages highly complex project, program and/or portfolio budgets
- Independently drives and manages project, program and/or portfolio activities relating to meeting objectives, budgets, scope, quality standards and schedules
- Performs project risk assessments, including identifying key risk factors, providing effective mitigation strategies and assigning contingency action plans to both schedules and budgets
- Manages projects and teams, including applying established methodologies, using change control templates and processes; managing time and recording activities using defined scheduling tools; monitoring budgets; coordinating resource acquisition and utilization; serving as a liaison with internal customers and external suppliers; and communicating regularly with project stakeholders.
- Interfaces with all levels of management throughout the bank
- Displays creativity when designing solutions to problems
- Creates formalized reports and presentations and presents them to senior and executive level management
- Creates effective governance structures and routines that consider strategic goals, existing project portfolios and multi-divisional impacts
- Contributes effectively to the collective team effort and offers ideas and solutions to complex problems
- Recognized as a trusted mentor and leader throughout the bank and is a credible role model to junior staff and peers
- Leads Solution selection and implementation which impacts critical Bank units or functions
- Participates in long-range planning and development of application or product roadmaps with business owners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5 years’ experience with project/program management methodologies, project management tools and techniques across all project activities along with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in a relevant field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing technology projects and/or programs; be able to manage highly complex technology projects/programs involving large teams
- Expert level skills in financial & stakeholder management; the role will require presenting to Sr. leaders
- Excellent presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple and logical manner
- Well-developed analytical skills and demonstrated ability to provide clarity to complex issues and synthesize large amounts of information
- Must be able to create highly complex MS Project plans, MS PowerPoint decks and Excel workbooks
