About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain core components of the Interhaptics haptic engine
Own features end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to testing and optimisation
Build scalable software abstractions to support both existing and upcoming haptic devices
Implement high-performance, real-time haptic rendering and playback systems
Optimise system performance and minimise latency across desktop, mobile, and console platforms
Collaborate with multiple internal teams to ensure seamless integration within the broader ecosystem
Contribute to SDKs, APIs, and developer-facing tools
Troubleshoot and resolve complex cross-platform and cross-device issues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong professional experience in software development, with a focus on performance-critical systems
Proficiency in C/C++
Experience designing and implementing robust, maintainable software architectures
Solid understanding of multithreading, real-time systems, performance optimisation, and debugging
Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of projects, and proactively drive technical solutions
Comfortable collaborating across multiple teams and disciplines within a large organisation.
