Payroll Administrator
RaycapPayroll Administrator responsible for multi-state, bi-weekly payroll for over 700 employees. Coordinating between accounting, HR, and ensuring compliance with state and federal payroll regulations.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the preparation and processing of multi-state, bi-weekly payroll for over 700 employees, ensure accuracy of deductions and earnings.
- Responsible for the coordination efforts between accounting, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.
- Controls the issuance of job titles and job codes to ensure consistency across the organization, in conjunction with HR managers.
- Initiate and maintain state, city, and local tax accounts as needed; ensures taxation, reporting and insurance compliance with state and federal jurisdictions as it relates to payroll.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll.
- Reconcile payroll tax reports, review of related tax filings.
- Ensure timely remittance of payroll related tax payments.
- Preparation of reports for management- headcount, overtime, labor hours, etc.
- Prepare payroll related journal entries and upload into accounting system.
- Reconcile benefit deductions and billing to ensure accuracy.
- Review and ensure accuracy of 401(k) contributions and reporting.
- Assist in the calculation/review of commissions and related ledger entries.
- Assist with administrative oversight of HRIS system for North American Operations.
- Coordinate with Third-Party Benefits Administrator to ensure accuracy of timely benefits enrollments for both new-hire and open enrollment periods.
- In conjunction with human resources, assist with benefits enrollment periods for all employees and ensure accuracy of employee enrollments.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate degree or higher
- Understanding of federal and state payroll related regulations
- Proficiency in ADP Payroll Software
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex spreadsheets, pivot tables, etc.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
