About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide real-time ASL interpretation (voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice) for meetings, briefings, trainings, and events.
Deliver both in-person and virtual interpretation services (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
Accurately convey meaning, tone, and context of communications.
Prepare for assignments by reviewing materials and terminology in advance.
Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the RID Code of Professional Conduct.
Support accessibility compliance in accordance with Section 508 and ADA requirements.
Adapt interpretation approach across a variety of subject matters, including technical and policy discussions.
Provide cultural mediation to enhance communication effectiveness when necessary.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Legal Studies, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of professional ASL interpreting experience.
Experience interpreting in formal or professional environments.
National certification required (e.g., RID: NIC, CI/CT, or equivalent).
Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
