About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as Ratehub's primary subject matter expert for mortgages and real estate, representing the brand in media opportunities; support the Communications team with expert commentary, data points, and timely insights for media pitches and press opportunities
  • Bring on-camera and on-mic presence to video content and media interviews; comfort in front of a camera is a strong asset
  • Strengthen Ratehub's authority in the mortgage space by producing/writing exceptional, accurate, and timely original content across formats including media contributions, landing pages, blog posts, newsletters, videos, and social media
  • Develop content that provides unique analysis and insights and reflects current market conditions, rate movements, and consumer needs — not just evergreen education
  • Liaise regularly with Ratehub's mortgage brokerage team to stay current on rate trends, lender strategy, and market shifts, and translate those insights into timely content updates
  • Maintain and refresh existing content on an ongoing basis — including blogs, FAQs, and landing pages — leveraging internal resources and freelancers where appropriate
  • Incorporate SEO and GEO best practices into all content, with particular rigour on landing pages and high-traffic pages
  • Set, document, and uphold Ratehub's editorial voice and style standards across all formats, channels, and contributors
  • Establish and maintain editorial policies, workflows, and governance frameworks that scale across staff writers, freelancers, and cross-functional contributors
  • Own and manage the editorial and social media calendar, balancing timely rate and market coverage with long-term content strategy and ensuring that all published content meets accuracy, compliance, and regulatory standards relevant to Canadian financial products
  • Review, edit, and approve work from writers, freelancers, and subject matter experts to maintain a consistently high editorial bar
  • Develop and maintain deep expertise in Canadian personal finance — mortgage rates, insurance, credit cards, banking, and investing — to provide credible editorial oversight
  • Own content QA processes, including fact-checking, link auditing, structural reviews, and scheduled content refreshes
  • Use performance data — organic traffic, keyword rankings,GEO metrics, engagement, and conversion signals — to inform editorial priorities and identify content gaps
  • Brief, onboard, and manage freelance contributors, including scope definition, quality oversight, and feedback
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, marketing, and data teams to ensure content reflects live product and rate information accurately
  • Serve as the lead on sponsored content production, acting as the primary point of contact between the external partnership team and the content team
