About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack software solutions for commercial products
  • Independently deliver features from concept through deployment with minimal supervision
  • Serve as the technical backup to the Software Architect, participating in architectural planning, technology selection, and design reviews
  • Contribute to software architecture and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and performant
  • Develop front-end applications, back-end services, business logic, and database components
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and services
  • Collaborate with Product Management and stakeholders to define requirements and ensure customer needs are met
  • Develop and maintain Software Design Requirements (SDRs) and technical documentation
  • Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices across the team
  • Build and maintain automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment processes
  • Support both cloud and on-premises deployment environments
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, retrospectives, and sprint demonstrations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including software engineers, scientists, and product managers
  • Report to the Development Manager within the R&D organization
  • Act as the secondary technical leader and primary backup to the Software Architect

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including leading complex technical initiatives
  • Strong experience with modern software architecture and design patterns
  • Full-stack application development experience
  • Proficiency in C# and .NET Core/.NET
  • Proficiency in Angular and TypeScript
  • Experience with SQL Server and relational database design
  • Experience with Entity Framework or equivalent ORM technologies
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies including OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT, and Identity
  • Experience with asynchronous, multithreaded, concurrent, and distributed programming
  • RESTful API development and service-oriented architecture experience
  • Modern UI development experience
  • Automated unit and integration testing with frameworks such as xUnit or NUnit
  • Docker containerization experience
  • CI/CD pipeline implementation and DevOps practices
  • Git source control and collaborative development workflows
  • Networking fundamentals and distributed applications knowledge
  • Cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and on-premises deployments
  • Production-quality software development across the full technology stack
  • Experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar
  • Ability to leverage AI-assisted and emerging agentic development workflows while maintaining software quality, security, and maintainability
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently within a highly collaborative engineering team
  • Ability to balance feature delivery with software quality, maintainability, and long-term architecture
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft technologies
  • Linux OS knowledge a plus
  • Mandatory on-site presence three days per week
  • Ability to work in office and laboratory settings
