About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own daily visibility into cash, burn, and runway, and hold the leadership team accountable to capital efficiency
- Build and maintain the financial model end-to-end: forecasting, scenario planning, cohort analysis, fundraising prep, and unit economics
- Run budget construction, departmental spend tracking, and budget vs. actuals reviews; centralize visibility into SaaS, AI, and vendor spend
- Partner on pricing and packaging — own the modeling, scenario analysis, and impact measurement behind pricing changes
- Lead GTM finance work in partnership with Sales: CAC, payback, cohort NDR, pipeline-to-bookings, and commission modeling
- Own procurement and vendor financial review; help decide what we pay for tools and where to negotiate
- Build board, investor, and fundraising materials and partner with the CEO on narrative
- Build the financial reporting and close infrastructure using modern tooling, AI, and automation
- Manage the outsourced accounting partner to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3–8 years of post-undergrad experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, and/or strategic finance at a high-growth SaaS startup
- Strong modeling fluency: you build clean, defensible financial models and are comfortable with cohort analysis, unit economics, and scenario planning
- Fluency in SaaS metrics: ARR, NDR, GRR, CAC, payback, magic number, burn multiple, gross margin, and cohort retention
- A hands-on operator's mindset — you live in the model, run the budget, and drive decisions, not just produce decks
- The temperament to hold founders and senior leaders accountable on budget, spend, and runway, and to push back when needed
- Comfort with ambiguity; you build the playbook as you go and don't need defined scope to be effective
- An AI-native approach to finance — modern FP&A stack, automation, and AI tooling, not legacy Excel-only workflows
