Financial Planning and Analysis

• Provide leadership and day-to-day management of RAN’s financial operations.
• Oversee general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and monthly closing processes.
• Monitor budgets, expenditures, and forecasts to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve journal entries, financial reports, and budget modifications.
• Manage the administration of the GL, the FP&A and the expense reporting platforms.
• Support the preparation of management reports, board reports, and financial analyses to inform decision-making.
• Support development and monitoring of internal financial policies, procedures, and controls.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and mid-year budget reviews.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards (GAAP) and compliance with internal financial controls and donor regulations.
• Support preparation of annual audits; assist in coordinating responses to auditor requests.
• Monitor compliance with grant and contract financial terms, ensuring proper documentation and timely reporting.
• Identify and help mitigate potential financial and compliance risks.
• Supervise and provide guidance to the Finance & Grants Administrator and Finance and Grant Coordinator other support staff as assigned.
• Collaborate with program, operations, and development teams to ensure proper financial tracking and documentation.
• Provide training and ongoing support to staff on financial processes and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of financial workflows and systems.
• Act as a back up to the CFO and Assistant Controller.

Finance Manager

Program Manager

• Acts as a management lead for teams within the Forest Program
• Works with Directors and teams to create and implement strategies for brands campaigning, forest finance campaigning, and cross-programmatic research, and ensures strategies are aligned with RAN’s mission, vision and strategic plan
• Oversees project management and annual work planning for the Forest Program
• Works with the Finance Team and Directors to develop the Forest Program budget, approves invoices, and is responsible for closing out the Forest Program budget month over month
• Supervises campaign and research leads in the Forest Program
• Provides support across the team as needed, ensuring that pace and capacity are healthy, and delegating responsibilities as necessary
• Partners with the Public Engagement Departments on digital, organizing and communications strategies for the Forest Program
• Supports corporate negotiations with financial institutions, brands, and forest-risk companies
• Serves as a public and media spokesperson for RAN
• Maintain relationships with coalition partners
• Supports fundraising efforts and partners with the development team on funder cultivation, proposal development and reporting
• Manages external contractors

Deputy Forest Program Director

Manager

• Lead the development, planning, and execution of research projects within the C&E program, including coordinating qualitative and quantitative research, publication writing, editing, consultation, design coordination, production, and launch activities.\n• Manage research partnerships and coalitions, including leading research collaboration on joint publications.\n• Manage the annual Banking on Climate Chaos research project, coordinating working groups, managing report production, timelines and budgets.\n• Supervise the Senior Research Strategist, who oversees data production on the Banking on Climate Chaos report\n• Manage and mentor the Senior Research Strategist and other research staff\n• Develop research products including briefings, blogs, internal memos and other products that support C&E program priorities on issues related to fossil fuels, the energy transition, the LNG sector, and the banking and insurance industries.\n• Oversee and guide the work of internal researchers, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely, high-quality outputs.\n• Establish and manage processes that enhance data integrity, consistency, and usability across research projects.\n• Ensure RAN’s research meets rigorous standards for credibility, impact, and accuracy.\n• Review and provide feedback on all major research deliverables including reports, briefings, blogs, memos, and presentations.\n• Maintain current knowledge of financial platforms like Bloomberg and other financial data providers.\n• Promote the use of RAN’s research tools as trusted sources of fossil fuel finance data for campaigners, investors, and policymakers.\n• Monitor financial industry trends and energy financing trends , identify emerging issues, data gaps, and learning opportunities to maintain RAN’s leadership in energy finance research.\n• Represent RAN’s research externally, including media and speaking engagements and stakeholder meetings with banks, investors, regulators, and other key audiences.\n• Contribute to strategic planning and assess research impact, while supporting tracking of research-related budgets and organizational planning cycles.\n• Collaborate with communications, digital, and development teams to produce compelling materials and contribute to grant proposals.
