About the role

  • Assist with resident relations by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and providing consistent communication and support
  • Process move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals in accordance with company policies and compliance regulations
  • Support resident engagement efforts to foster a positive and inclusive community environment
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with all affordable housing guidelines, including HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, and other funding programs
  • Process income certifications, recertifications, and maintain accurate tenant files in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct property tours, respond to leasing inquiries, and assist applicants through the leasing and eligibility process
  • Support leasing efforts to maintain optimal occupancy levels by assisting with marketing outreach, managing listings, and tracking vacancies
  • Prepare lease agreements and ensure compliance with fair housing regulations
  • Log, monitor, and follow up on work orders to ensure timely completion
  • Coordinate with vendors, maintenance technicians, and residents to ensure high-quality service
  • Conduct routine inspections of units and common areas to uphold cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards
  • Assist with rent collection, delinquency tracking, and enforcement of lease terms
  • Support budget tracking, invoice processing, and monthly reporting on occupancy, income, and expenses
  • Maintain accurate records using property management software and assist with preparing property reports as needed
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Property Manager and on-site team
  • Attend team meetings, assist with inspections, audits, and site visits
  • Communicate effectively with team members, residents, and vendors to ensure smooth property operations

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in property management or leasing, preferably in affordable housing
  • Working knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, and Section 8 programs
  • Familiarity with fair housing laws and housing compliance standards
  • Bilingual - English & Spanish
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or a related field preferred
  • Property management certifications (NALP, CAM, COS, etc.) are a plus
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Proficient in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain regulatory accuracy
  • Detail-oriented and dependable with a strong team-first attitude
