About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Receive and review referrals for Interventional Radiology procedures and consultations
- Ensure required clinical, demographic, insurance, and imaging documentation is complete
- Coordinate referrals, outpatient procedures, follow-up visits, and scheduling
- Obtain missing information and provide backup scheduling support as needed
- Obtain prior authorizations when required
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records
- Distribute consultation reports to appropriate parties
- Communicate with patients, referring physicians, hospital staff, and insurance companies
- Facilitate a prompt, helpful, and efficient referral and scheduling process
Requirements
What you’ll need- Radiology and/or medical office experience preferred
- Strong written, verbal, and organizational communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
- Positive, cooperative attitude with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort working with hospital patient information systems and radiology workflows
- Knowledge of Interventional Radiology procedures and medical terminology
- Strong computer, communication, organizational, interpersonal, teamwork, judgment, and confidentiality skills
