About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Write, edit, assemble, and publish digital content clearly and concisely for a regional and national audience
  • Organize and update the web pages for Radio-Canada Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Support radio teams in promoting their content on digital platforms
  • Gather information from various sources and report on it
  • Rewriting texts as needed
  • Ensure all texts respect standard grammar rules and style
  • Write headlines for social media
  • Select photos and audio/video clips for reports
  • Critically review content and items produced by others

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree or equivalent
  • Five (5) years of experience directly related to the position
  • Extensive and demonstrable knowledge of regional, national, and international issues
  • Ability to write a wide range of material related to news and current affairs
  • Confirmed experience and aptitude in writing/editing following best practices and style for digital platforms
  • Availability to work shifts
  • Sound judgment in evaluating information and ability to work effectively under pressure 24/7 in a newsroom with tight deadlines
  • Ability to determine the news value for online audiences
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; excellent team spirit
  • Advance level proficiency in speaking, writing, and reading English (CCC)
