About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze existing workflows to extract complex business transformation rules
Create the Source-to-Target Mappings (STM) that developers will use to build in Microsoft Fabric
Understand how the Cognos package is constructed to identify how we migrate to Power BI, including legacy Cognos reports
Use Postman and your understanding of REST APIs to facilitate discussions between the business and developers regarding modern data integrations
Translate high-level business needs into technical User Stories and Acceptance Criteria in Jira
Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that the data landing in Fabric matches the legacy Informatica/Cognos outputs perfectly

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of proven experience mapping data logic from legacy ETL (Informatica) to modern cloud data platforms (Fabric)
Functional experience navigating Microsoft Fabric is a strong asset
Deep functional understanding of IBM Cognos (Framework Manager) to extract legacy reporting logic
Strong proficiency in the Microsoft Power Platform stack (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
SQL Mastery (Joins, Window Functions, querying complex views)
Familiarity with Postman/APIs for modern data ingestion sources
Expert-level Source-to-Target Mappings (STM), Data Dictionaries, and translating legacy logic into clear Jira User Stories
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related College Diploma with equivalent professional experience
Certifications (Highly Valued Assets): CBIP, IIBA (CCBA/CBAP), or PMI-PBA certifications
