About the role

Implement complex workflows for receiving, transforming and delivering media files using in-house and commercial software solutions
Manage a server farm: perform updates and maintenance, install software, preserve integrity of files and metadata
Work closely with Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) and Productions partners
Participate in strategic planning and provide expert advice on media management; research and recommend innovative solutions
Involve stakeholders, ensure their needs are met, and design efficient solutions to complex integration problems
Prepare functional and schematic drawings for workflows
Provide users and support teams with high-level technical support and prepare training and user guides
Develop and recommend methods for quantifying workflow performance and produce performance statistics

University degree or college diploma in computer science or equivalent
Three to five years’ relevant experience
Solid command of the principles surrounding IT environments and related concepts
Good knowledge of audio and video formats and codecs
Strong ability to develop Receive/Transform/Deliver workflows for audio/video files
Practical knowledge of server administration (Linux, Windows), virtualization, networking, databases and security
Intermediate knowledge of REST API principles and the interconnections between different computer systems
Ability to design and develop innovative solutions and document technical specifications
Ability to collaborate with other business areas to align media and IT infrastructure with business requirements
Ability to draft complex reports and presentations with attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge of Vantage, Aspera, Avid, FFmpeg, Postman, Elasticsearch and Mongo a definite asset
Knowledge of SQL databases, relationships, queries, filtering and sorting, aggregation, etc.
Development and/or scripting skills an asset
Experience working for a media post-production or technical maintenance company an asset
Fluency in both English and French (English B; French C)
Availability to work primarily during the day, and be on call 24-7 every fourth week
