About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct clinical services across assigned program areas in accordance with program framework, organizational policies and procedures.
- Deliver culturally responsive, trauma-informed and person-centered care.
- Assess and treat individuals with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders using evidence-based practices.
- Establish and maintain therapeutic rapport to support engagement in services.
- Conduct mental health assessments, including diagnosis and individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy to adults and adolescents.
- Educate individuals and families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and treatment options.
- Deliver psychiatric rehabilitation services supporting recovery and independent functioning.
- Apply harm reduction principles and evidence-based substance use disorder interventions.
- Conduct crisis assessment and intervention, including safety planning and risk assessment; facilitate higher-level-care referrals.
- Make culturally sensitive referrals and support access to services and resources.
- Provide clinical consultation, guidance, and skill development to team members and professionals.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, case managers, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Build collaborative relationships with families, significant others, providers, and homeless-service stakeholders.
- Attend commitment court and legal proceedings; complete documentation and court reports.
- Support access to financial benefits, health care coverage, and community resources.
- Assist with transportation as needed.
- Provide co-leadership to assigned teams, including meetings, consultation, assessment and treatment-plan review, scheduling, and triage.
- Complete mandated reporting in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
- Adhere to ethical, legal, regulatory, confidentiality, and HIPAA requirements.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant electronic health-record documentation.
- Engage in professional development, supervision, team meetings, and continuous learning.
- Maintain reliable attendance and work schedule.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's Degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field.
- Qualified as a Mental Health Professional, maintaining an LICSW, LP, LPCC, or LMFT license in the State of Minnesota.
- 2,000 hours of supervised experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- 30 Continuing Education (CEU) Credits every 2 years.
- Must complete two Human Resources training annually.
- Attendance at required agency Race Equity Trainings.
- Preferred: Experience with unsheltered population.
