About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain an updated billing and benefit changes for all patients and third-party insurance carriers.
  • Prepare and process clean claims to various insurance companies for various patient insurances, including specific restrictions or groups.
  • Assist in auditing, error correction, and preparation of behavioral health billing in RADIAS Health's current electronic health record software.
  • Process and reconcile payments and overpayments from various insurance companies.
  • Report and maintain accurate documentation of company revenue for assigned programs.
  • Review and follow-up on denied claims, resubmitting claims to third party payers and advocate for payment.
  • Prepare and request paperwork for prior authorizations for services provided.
  • Prepare, review and send patient billing statements.
  • Performs various collection actions including contacting patients by phone and mailing out invoices.
  • Maintain competencies in software and websites for the agency's current electronic health record, state provider portals, and insurance provider portals.
  • Considers patient’s financial status and establishes budget payment plans. Follows and reports status of delinquent accounts.
  • Working knowledge of RADIAS Health programs
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
  • Complete all paperwork, reports, and charting contemporaneously and in an organized manner.
  • Participate actively in on-going professional growth and development; maintain appropriate professional behavior and participate in appropriate supervision
  • Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars.
  • Maintain a pattern of regular work hours to meet program needs as determined by the Program Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years experience in accounting/insurance billing
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, especially Outlook & Excel
  • **Preferred:**
  • Experience in health care or human services environment
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 years of accounting software experience desired
  • Administrative support and/or office management experience
