About the role

  • Report to the SVP, Chief Audit Executive
  • Manage internal staff and external vendors in a co-sourcing capacity
  • Assist in the development of the Internal Audit strategy and performance objectives
  • Lead execution of strategy and objectives, managing KPI metrics, automation, skills development, partnerships, and process improvements
  • Oversee compliance with Global Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and internal methodology
  • Manage Internal Audit department operations, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance reviews
  • Develop relationships with management, Audit Committee, and external vendors
  • Participate in management projects and committees
  • Develop reporting for the Audit Committee
  • Maintain and develop enterprise risk assessment and annual audit plan
  • Execute operational, financial, technology, and compliance audits/advisory projects
  • Stay abreast of best practices and provide technical advice to the team
  • Coordinate department work with external auditors

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • 10-15 or more years of prior work experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in internal auditing and/or public accounting
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience managing people
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley 404 or Model Audit Rule
  • Considerable knowledge of the IIA Standards and Code of Ethics
  • Insurance and IT audit experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and preferred experience with audit software tools, data analytics tools, and GenAI tools
  • Excellent project management skills related to data management projects
  • Ability to interact and exercise strong judgment in communicating issues internally and to senior management
