Intermediate Learning Designer
RaceRocksLearning Designer in a remote position at RaceRocks, building impactful training systems for clients. Collaborate with teams to design and develop engaging learning experiences.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Collaborate to determine a client’s training needs: Uncover who learners are and their characteristics, the tasks of a position, and what successful performance of these tasks looks like
- Work with the client and subject matter experts to identify resources for developing learning materials
- Support clients in understanding the best media and technologies to meet training needs
- Supporting needs assessments to discover shortfalls in job performance and current training
- Outlining learning objectives and proposing training solutions to help learners achieve optimal performance in their roles
- Supporting the definition of program strategies and guidelines in planning and design documents
- Apply your Learning Design expertise to produce deliverables depending on the project scope and timeline: Break down complex information into an engaging and easy-to-understand format
- Create lesson plans or storyboards for media-rich eLearning courses, scenarios-based learning, and a variety of assessments according to instructional design principles and in collaboration with SMEs and Artists
- Build and publish content using eLearning software
- Examine, review, and correct content for accuracy, consistency, and accessible learner experience
- Test eLearning packages in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and assessing effectiveness, including SCORM/xAPI reporting
- Work closely with a Project Manager to inform process and requirement documentation, and to continuously prioritize, mitigate risks, and adjust expectations to maintain a cohesive vision throughout the project
- Work with other Learning Designers to grow and enhance your discipline expertise and best practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of 3 years in instructional design including:
- Demonstrable experience designing effective online, blended and/or distance learning experiences (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate and work with Learning Management Systems, SCORM, and/or xAPI an asset)
- Experience designing a variety of instructional materials
- Experience completing Training Needs/Gap Analysis
- Experience applying generative AI to a learning design workflow for efficiency while maintaining accuracy and relevance to learning goals
- Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (multimedia and graphics software are an asset)
- Strong understanding of adult learning theories and design methodologies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate with colleagues and clients with confidence, clarity, transparency and passion
- Ability to work independently with and without supervision on longer term projects as well as in small cross-functional, task-oriented teams on short term goals
- An inclusive and collaborative approach to work in a diverse, multi-disciplinary team
