About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Improve systems supporting millions of payment transactions
Make z/OS environments more stable, modern and scalable
Improve version control, deployment, automation and delivery pipelines
Work closely with DevOps teams in Payment Solutions
Design, build, test and implement improvements to tooling and pipelines
Build modern CI/CD solutions for z/OS applications
Support development teams with complex technical integration challenges across applications and environments
Automate mainframe tasks within a DevOps context
Safeguard quality, continuity and compliance in a highly available, business-critical environment
Contribute to an Agile way of working
Collaborate within APF Generic Infrastructural Services to modernise and future-proof the mainframe environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Higher professional education (HBO) working and thinking level
At least 3 years of experience as a DevOps engineer, software engineer, technical administrator or functional application administrator
Mainframe background, preferably in system management
Knowledge of z/OS and preferably CICS, MQ, DB2, DataPower or COBOL
Experience automating mainframe tasks, preferably in a DevOps context
Knowledge of modern automation and CI/CD technologies such as Git, Ansible, Python, Java, pipeline automation and tooling in complex enterprise environments
Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages such as COBOL, Java or Python
Understanding of business processes, applications and underlying infrastructure within a large organisation
Analytical, customer-focused and results-driven
Ability to move between people, processes and technology
A security check is part of the process
