About the role

Design, code, test, deploy, and operate backend services, data pipelines, and AI systems
Lead the design and delivery of larger features or systems
Raise the bar for code quality, reliability, and security through thoughtful design reviews
Mentor and support other engineers through pairing and feedback
Partner closely with product managers to turn complex manual workflows into scalable AI automations
Work with AI and ML engineers to build AI-native systems that combine deterministic logic and traditional ML models

10+ years of experience building and operating products backed by ML/AI systems
Organizational-level technical leader who sets direction across multiple teams or initiatives
Strong track record of mentoring engineers and improving team execution
Hands-on engineer who enjoys writing code and debugging real production issues
Comfortable speaking directly with users and designing solutions based on their needs
Experienced with scaling systems and resolving issues across performance, reliability, and data correctness
