About the role
- Lead both the technical and the operational side of the monthly financial close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Warrant the quality, accuracy and timeliness of multi-entity consolidations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare various financial statements and report, such as balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement for finance review meetings
- Oversee the accounts receivable processes, managing tasks including invoice processing, collections, and revenue recognition
- Oversee accounts payable functions, including processing vendor invoices, managing vendor payments, and ensuring timely issuance of 1099 forms
- Assist with documenting and updating the policies, procedures and processes
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations while managing payroll and benefits payment administration
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting process, offering insights and suggestions to improve financial performance
- Assist in annual financial statement audit, preparing audit schedules & other audit requests, and interacting directly with external audit staff
- Partner with outside tax accountants to remain compliant with all local regulations
- Assist in documentation and implementation of internal controls by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Drive process improvements and optimize efficiencies in the accounting and reporting areas, including elimination or streamlining of manual or non-effective tasks
- Perform special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting/Finance as requested
- Stay current on pertinent accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and drive ongoing improvement initiatives
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong background in accounting, coupled with prior audit experience and/or a demonstrated interest in technology or startup environments
- 6-10+ years of experience in Accounting, and 3+ years’ U.S. public accounting audit experience preferred
- Experienced in both start-up and large established companies
- Expertise in accounting principles, practices, and regulations; specifically with ASC 606
- Expertise in Netsuite and in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Bill.com, Brex, Rippling Payroll, InFlow are strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities
