About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the consumption metering ingest and marketplace submission pipelines across Python, AWS serverless services, Azure Functions, m3ter, and cloud marketplace APIs
  • Run the system in production, including code review, CI/CD, deployment, incident response, and the on-call rotation
  • Build alerting, retries, idempotency, and self-recovery mechanisms
  • Write runbooks for on-call teams
  • Replace bespoke per-product submission logic with a unified submission engine
  • Rebuild structurally flawed parts of the inherited design
  • Act as the named risk steward for revenue correctness and own mitigations through resolution
  • Partner with Product to develop customer-facing metering insights and features such as live balances, hourly-accurate usage, and burn-rate forecasting
  • Translate requirements across Finance, Sales Operations, Customer Success, and engineering
  • Lead the technical relationship with external billing SaaS partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience owning a production system that mattered, including end-to-end incident ownership and resulting improvements
  • Concrete experience with idempotency, retries, and alerting
  • Four or more years of professional software engineering experience
  • Python proficiency or demonstrated ability to ramp quickly in an unfamiliar stack
  • Experience shipping serverless, event-driven systems on at least one major cloud
  • Experience with AWS Lambda, EventBridge and SQS, Azure Functions, or Google Cloud equivalents
  • Experience integrating external production systems such as billing platforms, cloud marketplaces, payment providers, ERP, or CRM
  • Experience with modern CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and infrastructure as code
  • Ability to work through unfamiliar problems and recognize knowledge boundaries
  • Ability to explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders and maintain appropriate technical decisions
  • Bonus: experience with m3ter, Stripe Billing, Metronome, Orb, or a similar metering platform
  • Must address Ireland employment visa/work permit sponsorship requirements
