About the role

  • Support the development and execution of the company’s global Government Relations and Public Affairs strategy, with a primary focus on Brazil as the global headquarters, by monitoring and analyzing regulatory and public policy developments at the Federal, State and Municipal levels.
  • Coordinate the company’s participation in sectoral and business associations, ensuring alignment between institutional positioning, business strategy and ESG commitments.
  • Act as a technical reference within Corporate Affairs, contributing to proactive advocacy, risk mitigation and opportunity identification on priority regulatory and public policy agendas.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on legislative, regulatory and public policy developments relevant to the company’s global and Brazilian operations.
  • Assess potential business, reputational and ESG impacts, translating complex regulatory matters into clear insights and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
  • Support the development of institutional positions, technical notes and policy briefs aligned with corporate strategy and values.
  • Support and help structure a strategic plan for the company’s participation in sectoral, business and multi-stakeholder associations, with a focus on regulatory and public policy agendas.
  • Actively participate in working groups, committees and technical forums, representing the company or supporting senior representatives.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment between the company’s direct institutional positioning and positions advocated through associations.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of the institutional value and effectiveness of memberships and coalitions.
  • Support relationship-building initiatives with government authorities, regulators, legislative bodies and technical advisors, especially in Brazil.
  • Contribute to transparent, ethical and responsible advocacy strategies, in line with compliance and corporate governance standards.
  • Prepare briefings, talking points and background materials for executives participating in institutional engagements.
  • Work closely with Sustainability, Alpargatas Institute, and External Communication & Reputation teams to ensure alignment between regulatory agendas, ESG commitments and the corporate narrative.
  • Support integrated approaches to topics involving climate, circularity, social impact, incentives, and public policy frameworks.
  • Contribute to risk assessment and mitigation plans for sensitive or high-exposure topics.
  • Maintain updated stakeholder maps, regulatory trackers and priority issue dashboards.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for internal governance forums.
  • Support the continuous improvement of processes, governance and knowledge management within Government Relations & Public Affairs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, International Relations, Public Policy, Economics, Business Administration or related fields.
  • Postgraduate degree or specialization in Public Policy, Government Relations, Regulation or ESG is a plus.
  • Solid professional experience (typically 3–5 years) in Government Relations, Public Affairs, regulatory affairs, sectoral associations, consulting, corporate environments or relevant non-profit organizations.
  • Proven experience engaging with sectoral or business associations and regulatory or policy-making processes in Brazil.
  • Experience in global or multinational environments is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of the Brazilian legislative and regulatory process.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex regulatory and public policy information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
  • Advanced skills in preparing briefings, technical notes and executive presentations.
  • Strategic thinking with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate without formal authority.
  • High level of integrity, discretion and reputational awareness.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
