About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as a DBA administering and evolving databases in a cloud environment (AWS RDS), ensuring availability, security and performance;
Plan, execute and optimize migrations, upgrades, replication and clustering;
Monitor and improve performance (query tuning, execution analysis and parameter adjustments);
Diagnose and resolve critical data issues (failures, corruption, deadlocks);
Automate operational routines and ensure efficiency in environment management;
Design and maintain scalable, resilient data infrastructure, including data pipelines and data architecture;
Work closely with development teams to ensure data quality, performance and integrity;
Lead data-driven culture initiatives, structuring data collection, processing and delivery;
Manage the lifecycle of data engineering solutions, from planning to implementation;
Plan capacity and implement scalability strategies to support growth;
Lead and develop the Data Analytics and Data Engineering team, promoting technical growth and performance management;
Collaborate with business and technology areas to ensure alignment with strategic objectives;
Evaluate and implement new technologies for continuous evolution of the data platform.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Previous experience: prior experience as a technical lead in Data teams (Data Analytics and Data Engineering);
Experience as a Postgres DBA;
Experience identifying and resolving performance issues, optimizing queries and tuning configurations to ensure efficient performance;
Experience diagnosing and resolving complex issues such as deadlocks, data corruption and server failures;
Strong knowledge of RDS for Postgres in AWS cloud;
Solid understanding of implementing security measures such as authentication, authorization, auditing and data encryption;
Completed higher education (Bachelor’s degree);
Desirable certifications:
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner;
AWS Certified Data Analytics;
AWS Certified Database;
Familiarity with creating scripts and automations to facilitate administrative and maintenance tasks;
Experience programming in at least one language such as Python, Java or Scala;
Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning concepts;
Experience building a data architecture for AI from the ground up;
Experience with continuous integration environments such as GitHub Actions.
