About the role
- Working within Queensland Rail’s Major Projects team, the Systems & Safety Assurance Engineer will work within the Logan and Gold Coast (LGC) Rail Alliance and provide expert advice, analysis, and assurance to support the safe and compliant delivery of the Logan and Gold Coast Fast rail project.
- You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure assets are delivered in line with contractual Railway Transport Operator (RTO) requirements, integrating seamlessly with our existing Railway Operations and upholding the highest standards of safety and performance.
- Define and implement assurance criteria for new or modified assets, ensuring safe integration into the operational network.
- Coordinate evidence submissions and support the infrastructure configuration change processes in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders.
- Provide expert advice to project teams and stakeholders on integration activities, compliance, risks, and technical standards.
- Review systems assurance deliverables and develop supporting artefacts to meet safety and technical requirements.
- Monitor non-conformances, drive improvements, and maintain oversight of contract requirements related to asset assurance.
- Support identification and resolution of operational risks throughout project delivery.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in asset acceptance, risk, and assurance within large-scale project environments.
- Strong knowledge of engineering, design, construction, operations, and maintenance practices and standards.
- Proven ability to develop technical standards, specifications, and risk documentation.
- High-level skills in risk assessment, technical analysis, and interpreting complex data.
- Solid understanding of design, asset management, and inspection/audit processes.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Highly organised and motivated individual with outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
