About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide guidance and perform accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles, applicable standards and legislation, carrying out the monthly accounting close through appropriate account reconciliations and fixed asset inventory, ensuring compliance with current legal standards within the company’s control system.
  • Adhere to accounting principles and relevant regulations within established deadlines and company policies and procedures, ensuring the integrity of accounting records and the accuracy and quality of financial information.
  • Review and close trial balances using system transactions by preparing and supplying required information, ensuring accuracy and quality of accounting data.
  • Support external audits by providing reports and resolving any inquiries.
  • Contribute to proper control of the company’s fixed assets and physical inventory by conducting re-registration, relabeling/tagging and cataloging of assets in the system, investigating and resolving discrepancies between physical counts and accounting records in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Monitor and control maintenance of the fixed asset control system in the ERP by parameterizing and updating tables, and recording asset transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, transfers and changes.
  • Meet deadlines for each obligation through control, generation, preparation and delivery of tax and fiscal ancillary obligations, using organizational and control tools in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Review the preparation of the Corporate Income Tax Annual Return (IRPJ), using appropriate tools and software with support from consultants, advisors and Management decisions, meeting deadlines and achieving the best results for the company.
  • Issue tax and reporting forms (DCTF, DIRF, SPED FISCAL, GIA and DAPI), obtain approvals and forward for payment, file copies for control, and prepare and dispatch various documents (letters, forms, declarations, etc.) to demonstrate payments to the relevant public authorities.
  • Oversee bookkeeping activities and monthly Corporate Income Tax calculations, ensuring that taxes due are calculated and paid in accordance with the law, while continuously seeking cost reductions through efficient and optimized tax management.
  • Proactively participate in month-end closing activities, completing assigned tasks and responsibilities within established deadlines to ensure accurate closing and reporting of results to Management.
  • Report conclusions and observations on accounting matters to company managers through analysis of accounts and trial balances as well as system reports and other supporting documents.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field; specialization courses or MBA in related areas preferred.
  • Familiarity with routine accounting processes.
  • ERP Protheus – Modules: Management Accounting and Fiscal Books.
  • Knowledge of Financial and Purchasing modules is a plus.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal legislation.
