About the role
- Reporting to the Engineering Manager, act as a subject matter expert for the Position, Navigation & Timing (PNT) Programme.
- Deliver PNT projects for the Cyber & Space Operating Centre (CSOC).
- Manage generation of ESS (Electronic Systems & Sensors) requirements and define technical deliverables.
- Oversee design of sub-systems, components, or processes to meet customer requirements.
- Participate in and scrutinise the system’s test, verification, validation, and evaluation processes.
- Verify and recommend the use of technical data to support engineering documentation maturity.
- Act upon identified risks related to safety, environment, support, and finance.
- Consider in-service support and associated costs during design and requirements phase.
Requirements
- A Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) qualification at RQF Level 4 (e.g., HNC/HND) or higher.
- Proven experience in the delivery of Electronic Systems, Sensors, or Mechatronic Engineering outcomes.
- Professionally registered as an Engineering Technician (EngTech), Registered Science Technician (RSciTech), or similar (ICTTech/RITTech).
- If you do not hold professional registration, you must hold a minimum RQF Level 6 (Bachelor’s Degree) in a STEM discipline.
- Experience managing technical risk and understanding safety/environmental implications in engineering.
- Specific experience providing technical advice relating to Position, Navigation & Timing technologies and/or Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) is desirable.
- Experience working in a fast-paced delivery environment.
