About the role
- Own creation and cohesion of visual styles and components for burgeoning design system
- Measure usability with team experts and customers to validate design decisions
- Draft wireframes, storyboards, and prototypes for desktop and mobile web apps
- Partner with product managers and engineers to deliver intuitive, seamless user experiences
- Contribute to and maintain design system styles and libraries in Figma
- Deliver user experience consistency between platforms and viewport sizes
- Diverge from design patterns deliberately and with conviction when it's best for customers
- Solicit reactions, requirements and recommendations from team experts and customers to improve how our UI looks & works
- Challenge & improve the practice of Design with prevailing patterns, trends, and AI techniques
- Document design and implementation decisions to maximize visibility, coherence, and actionability
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or applicable discipline
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer with a portfolio showcasing work for web applications and mobile apps, especially complex visuospatial user interfaces, digital maps and time series
- Proficiency with Figma components, libraries, variables, and design systems
- Familiarity with AI-aided prototyping
- Discerning application of usability and accessibility principles
- Proficiency with user research and design validation, e.g. surveys and usability testing
- Capable problem-solver, attention to detail, anticipate questions & compromises
- Communicate succinctly to build consensus while capable to present & elaborate design decisions for large audiences
