About the role
- Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of database systems in 24/7 environments, optimizing for scalability and high availability.
- Designs cloud database architectures, enforces compliance, drives performance tuning, and collaborates with stakeholders to align database strategies with business needs.
- Ensure the smooth implementation and maintenance of database systems (Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, and Progress DB)
- Provide production support for 24/7 environments
- Monitor and analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and scalability of database systems
- Work closely with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards
- Document and maintain technical documentation related to the work done
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and design scalable cloud database architectures
- Develop and implement database management strategies, including data governance and data security measures
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in cloud computing, data management, and database technologies, and recommend improvements to existing systems
- Participate in capacity planning exercises and ensure efficient resource utilization
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with Oracle Database Administration, specifically Oracle 19c, OEM, and OMS
- At least 5 years of experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL
- At least 5 years of experience with Database Management Operations
- At least 5 years of experience with designing and implementing database architectures
- At least 5 years of experience with Database Security in Oracle and SQL, including TDE, DataGuard, and Golden Gate
- Experienced with Automation and Scripting using Ansible, Shell, or Python
- Familiarity with Progress OpenEdge Database
- Familiarity with Ansible Automation
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS)
- Certifications in any of: Oracle, Microsoft, Google, AWS relevant to this position
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols
- Experience in DevOps practices and methodologies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
