About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and execute the roadmap for Quantinuum’s software stack (front-end languages, compilers, applications, lab software) to align with long-term company goals and hardware advancements.
Oversee the architecture and construction of a scalable developer platform for quantum applications, and work with our business teams to deploy the platform to the ecosystem
Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing team of software engineers, ensuring technical excellence, and performance management.
Work with architectural design chiefs and other technical leaders on the implementation of quantum software, ensuring scalability, quality, and high performance.
Partner closely with hardware, theory, product, and commercial teams to align software capabilities with hardware capabilities and customer needs.
Direct the full software development lifecycle, from ideation to release, maintaining high standards for user experience and documentation.
Stay at the forefront of the quantum computing industry and software engineering trends, applying this knowledge to maintain competitive advantage.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Master's degree (minimum) or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Quantum Computing, Physics, or a related field.
10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management capacity, preferably in quantum computing, HPC (High-Performance Computing), or advanced software platforms.
